  • Junior Expedition (3-5 years)

    Investigate nature up close in this 2-week Winter discovery program. Search for signs of animals and how life adapts to changing seasons, then continue your hands-on explorations while you warm up with hot chocolate at The Morton Arboretum. Two Wednesdays, February 19 and 26, 2020, 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., or Two Wednesdays, May 20 and 27, 2020, 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

    Let miles of walking trails at The Morton Arboretum roll beneath your feet as you experience and discover the wonders of nature and earn your Hiking Merit Badge. Two Sundays, May 3, 2020, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and August 23, 2020, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Garden Explorers (18–35 months)

    Join us for this four-week outdoor adventure in the garden. Each day we will play, hike, read stories, and make a nature-related craft at The Morton Arboretum. Four Tuesdays, May 5 through 26, 2020, 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

  • Citizenship in the World Merit Badge

    Learn what it takes to be a good citizen in the world. Compare the rights we have in the United States with the rights of two other countries. Two Tuesdays, May 19 and June 23, 2020, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge

    How much do you know about your national government? In this merit badge class, held at The Morton Arboretum, explore the three branches of our national government. Two Wednesdays, May 20 and June 24, 2020, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

    How do animals and plants grow up with roots, scales, or tails? Dive into the life cycles of green creatures around the Arboretum and see them up close!   • Splashing around with Science- Pre-Kindergarten

    Observe, guess, test, and splash your way through science experiments in this fun-filled outdoor lab adventure at The Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 8 through 12, or July 13 through 17, or August 10 through 14, 2020, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or June 8 through 12, 2020, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Painting with Plants- Pre-Kindergarten

    Explore your artistic roots! Touch, explore, play, and paint with all the parts of a plant and discover what each part does at the Morton Arboretum. Monday through Friday, June 1 through 5, or July 6 through 10, or August 3 through 7, 2020, 9:00 a.m. to noon, or July 6 through 10, 2020, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Dinos, Ginkgos, and Me-Kindergarten

    Travel back to the dinosaur age! Discover different dinosaurs; learn what they ate, where they lived, and the trees that grew when dinosaurs were alive at the Morton arboretum.     Build, play, dig, and discover all the things that love mud!     Have you ever been as hungry as a caterpillar? Enter the whimsical world of Eric Carle as his characters come to life through stories, games, and crafts at The Morton Arboretum.   • Pond Pals-Kindergarten

    How do tadpoles turn into frogs? How do turtles and fish grow up? Together we’ll search for croaking frogs, basking turtles, and swimming fish while we take a closer look at our friends that live in ponds at The Morton Arboretum! June 8 through 12, or July 13 through 17, 2020, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Squishy Squashy Art-kindergarten

    Put on your artist hat. Paint and sculpt squishy frogs, textured turtles, and slippery fish.Learn about these wetland critters and develop artistic skill at The Morton Arboretum.
